Sunny Gables Alumni House
LaGrange College
Part of the National Register of Historic Places Vernon Road Historic District, Sunny Gables was built in 1925 and acquired by LaGrange College in 1973. Today, it provides a “place to come home to” for LaGrange alumni and also offers a splendid location for College dinners and events. It is available to LaGrange College alumni for receptions, luncheons and dinners. For information contact Campus Services at lcservices@lagrange.edu, or call 706.880.8296.
Column of Distinction
Recently, the College unveiled designs for a monument that will serve as a lasting tribute to those who generously support Defining Moment: The LaGrange College Campaign
for Distinction. Acknowledging the year the institution was founded—1831—donors contributing a cumulative gift of $1,831 or more to thecampaign (between July 1, 2004, and June
30, 2010) will be recognized with their names etched into the Column of Distinction, which will be permanently displayed on the LaGrange College campus. Reminiscent of the columns fronting Smith Hall, the marker’s design symbolizes the strength supplied by those who support LaGrange during her defining moment.
For more information, contact the Development Office at 706.880.8039 or development@lagrange.edu or visit www.lagrange.edu/definingmoment.
Loyalty Fund for Student Scholarships
The Loyalty Fund for Student Scholarships is a symbolic and practical expression of a strong belief in the value of a LaGrange College education. Alumni from the 1930s to 2008
join with classmates to help current students attend the College. These classes have funded 141 $1,000 scholarships for the 2008-2009 academic year.
While all contributors deserve recognition, two reunion classes will be lifted up at Homecoming for their exceptional dedication to this cause. The Spirit of LaGrange Award will be presented to the Class of 1938 for demonstrating the highest five-year average for class giving participation, and the Class of 1968 will be recognized with the Alumni Giving Award for the highest five-year giving total. We congratulate these two classes and the entire family of LaGrange College Alumni for an outstanding year of alumni support of students at LaGrange College. Thank you!
