Michaela Keel

"I'm with the band."

Sophomore Michaela Keel is a natural at many things. As a middle school baseball pitchåer, she struck out the boys and made them cry. When she went out for softball as an LC freshman, Coach Claybrook spied Michaela's natural ability and drafted her as varsity catcher. And when this Tallahassee, Florida native decided that she wanted to excel in music as a member of the college's newly-formed marching band, it was just a matter of adjusting her schedule and learning the tunes. "Band is a lot of work," she says. "Field rehearsals in the hot Georgia sun can seem endless, but it's ... sweating for a purpose. The rewards are worth it."
