Recent Guests
We are very fortunate to offer students opportunities to work alongside professional theatre artists while they study at LaGrange College. Each year we bring in guest artists as directors, choreographers, mask makers, designers, playwrights and actors. Recent professional guests include:

Venustiano Borromeo, has been the Scenic Designer and Producer of Park Playhouse, Inc., in Albany, NY, for over 20 years. He has designed costumes and scenery for pre-Broadway tours of Gifts from the Attic and Encounter 55…Cristoforo Colombo, and for numerous off-Broadway productions. He has served as Resident Designer for St Bart’s Playhouse and The Westbeth Theater Center in NYC and has designed scenery and costumes for regional theaters in New York, Connecticut, and Pennsylvania. Ven has taught at Brooklyn College and Siena College, Loudonville, NY. He received a B.S. and B.A. from Indiana University, an M.A. from the University of Michigan, and an M.F.A. from Brooklyn College.

Jen Price Fick, Scenic Artist and Designer, She Loves Me and Pippen, lives in New Jersey with her husband, Matthew Fick. She graduated with her MFA in Scene Design from Rutgers University. Design credits include: Footloose, Chicago, Into The Woods, Pirates of Penance, and World Goes ‘Round at Papermill Theatre, NH. She also works as a design assistant for Edward Pierce Studio in New York City. Recent projects with Edward Pierce studio include work as a model maker for Wicked, 2nd assistant on The Pirate Queen (Broadway), and various other projects. Jen is also the resident scenic designer for the Cohoes Music Hall in Cohoes, New York.

Matthew Fick, Lighting Designer, Absurd Person Singular and She Loves Me, is from Ohio, but is currently living in New Jersey. He is a graduate of Rutgers University. His recent projects include: Othello for Mile Square Theater, The Chronicles of Narnia for Hoboken High School, The Sand Storm for Metro Stage, Washington, D.C., and Footloose, Chicago, Cabaret, and Evita for Papermill Theatre in Lincoln, NH.

Zann & Craig Jacobrown, Mask Makers,Lysistrata, were in residence at LC in the spring of 2005 to conduct workshops and finalize designs for the masks for Lysistrata.  Craig Jacobrown has been teaching and conducting theater workshops n high schools, colleges and private theaters for over twenty years. He trained in the Jacques Lecoq method of movement before extensive study with Balinese and Northwest Coast Native American mask dancers.

Joanna Schmink, Costume Designer, Lysistrata, Macbeth, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Misanthrope, Dracula, Scenes and Revelations, Twelfth Night, received a BFA from the University of Georgia and an MFA from Penn State University.  Her professional credits include work at the Atlanta Opera, Seven Stages, The Horizon, Georgia Shakespeare Festival and The Alliance Theater.  Joanna, a member of United Scenic Artists, has served as a guest lecturer and an instructor of costume design at LC.

James Tolman, Scenic Artist and Designer, Lysistrata, Macbeth, Mrs. California, Hay Fever is a professional scenic designer and artist who has worked all over New England.  He first worked with Kim Barber at the Papermill Theatre in New Hampshire.  Representative works include:  Arms and the Man, Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing, Guys and Dolls, Cabaret, and his favorite, Six Characters in Search of An Author.  James received his B.F.A. in Scenic Design from Salem State College in Salem, Massachusetts.

Alan Yeong, Costume Designer, She Loves Me and SIX CHARACTERS IN SEARCH OF AN AUTHOR, is an Associate Professor of Theatre at the State University of West Georgia, and is also an adjunct professor at LC. He has a B.A. in Theatre from Bemidji State University, MN, an M.F.A. in Scenography from the University of Kansas, and an M.F.A. in Costume Design from the Hilberry Graduate Repertory Theatre of Wayne State University, MI. Costume design credits include: The Importance of Being Earnest, The Marriage of Figaro, The Comedy of Errors and Little Shop of Horrors.
