Dr. Charles Kraemer is an alumnus of LaGrange College, having completed his undergraduate
coursework at LaGrange College before moving to the University of Georgia to complete
his master's and doctoral coursework.Dr. Kraemer's research specialty at the University
of Georgia was human memory and cognition.After completing his Ph.D., Dr. Kraemer
returned to LaGrange College as a faculty member and now also serves as the chair
of the department, the chair of the LaGrange College Institutional Review Board,
and the advisor to the local chapter of Psi Chi, the international psychology honor
society.Dr. Kraemer was also the first Director of Undergraduate Research at LaGrange
College.
In addition to his teaching and leadership on campus, Dr. Kraemer is also actively
involved in his work with the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Advanced Placement
(AP) program in psychology.For more than ten years he has served as an AP Psychology
Reader, scoring the essay portion of the AP Psychology test during the summer.For
the last several years Dr. Kraemer has also worked as a Senior Reviewer for the
AP Psychology Syllabus Review Project.This includes participating in writing the
guidelines for the preparation of a syllabus for an AP Psychology course and conducting
the second review of an AP Psychology syllabus when an initial review has identified
potential problems.
In recognition of Dr. Kraemer's leadership in developing the undergraduate program
at LaGrange College and of his successes in integrating research projects into
his courses, Dr. Kraemer was awarded the John R. Hines Undergraduate Research Award
for Faculty in 2008, and in recognition of his many successes since his graduation
from LaGrange College, Dr. Kraemer was named to the LaGrange College Wall of Outstanding
Alumni in 2009.
