National History Day in the Classroom – 2014 Workshop for Teachers
The Georgia Humanities Council and
The LaGrange College National History Day Mentoring Program
Hosted by LaGrange College, and part of the GHC/LC NHD mentoring and outreach partnership, this workshop will focus on implementing National History Day in the classroom—from topic selection, through research, to project development and presentation. Under the leadership of Tim Hoogland and Sarah Aschbrenner, Co-coordinators National History Day Minnesota, teachers will learn many tips and engage in hands-on practice, with the goal of strengthening their work with student researchers in the classroom. Given the popularity of the category among students, the workshop will also introduce participants to the Weebly website building platform.
This workshop is open to 20 teachers, and the priority is on teachers with 0-3 years of National History Day experience.
