Financial Aid and Loan Forgiveness Options:
Federal Direct Loan: Graduate students may qualify for a Federal Direct Loan of
up to $20,500 annually to cover the remaining program costs. A portion of the loan
may be eligible for forgiveness through the Stafford Loan Forgiveness Program for
Teachers.
The Stafford Loan Forgiveness Program for Teachers is intended to encourage students
to enter and continue in the teaching profession. After completing 5 years of full-time,
qualifying teaching service at an eligible low-income elementary or secondary school, some
teachers may be eligible for up to $5,000 in Federal Stafford or Direct Loan forgiveness.
Highly qualified teachers in mathematics, science, or special education may be
eligible for up to $17,500 in Federal Stafford or Direct Loan forgiveness after
completing 5 years of full-time, qualifying teaching service at an eligible low-income elementary
