Learning to be an accountant is only half the challenge.

Learning to be an accountant is only half the challengeWe want you to think like an accountant, too. And what's the best way to do that? We call it "project-based learning." Take the Business Activity Model, for example. The project (each accounting student does it) spans three semesters. You'll simulate the activities of a public accountant and you'll lead the entire audit of a company.

Project-based learning like this goes beyond the classroom and doesn't use a textbook. Let's face it: Textbooks give you someone else's interpretation - and all the answers. But at LaGrange, we think it's more important for you to find the answers yourself. (It goes back to your thinking as an accountant.) So, in classes like Tax, Intermediate Accounting, and Research, instead of textbooks, you'll learn by using the same industry-standard databases that professionals use. Real-life learning gets you out of the text, and into a higher frame of mind - the mind of an accountant.
