COSTUME DESIGNER/COSTUME FACULTY with DESIGN experience Assistant Professor/TENURE Track The Department of Theatre Arts at LaGrange College invites applications for a full-time position in a vigorous B.A. program. Qualifications: MFA with preferred concentration in Costume Design. Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching and evidence of outstanding design potential. Responsibilities include: teaching costume design, makeup, and introductory Theatre Arts courses, costume design and/or supervision of student designers for two main stage and one studio production annually, supervision of student costume crew, maintenance and supervision of the costume shop and costume storage. Scenic design opportunities as well. Faculty members are expected to contribute to the department and to the College through service to the department and commitment to teach in the CORE curriculum as well as service on faculty committees. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. Position to begin Fall 2010. U.S. News & World Report recently ranked LaGrange College among the top 10 "comprehensive colleges" in the South.

Assistant Professor of Spanish Position Qualifications/responsibilities: Tenure track position for an assistant professor in Spanish beginning August 2010. The successful candidate will have native or near-native fluency in Spanish and will have completed the Ph.D. Prior teaching experience in a small Liberal Arts college is a plus. The candidate must be a dynamic and creative teacher who enjoys teaching Spanish at all levels especially beginning level courses. In addition, the candidate will be actively engaged in teaching the Humanities sequence in the college's interdisciplinary core. Therefore, a concentration in Peninsular Studies or literature would be preferable.

Assistant Professor of English LaGrange College seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor of English to begin August 2010.
Duties will include teaching upper-level writing courses, freshman composition, interdisciplinary courses in the common Core, and graduate-level content courses in the Education department, as well as Interim (January term) courses.
The teaching load will be between twenty-one (21) and twenty-four (24) hours per academic year, as circumstances require.
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Communications, or English, with primary expertise in teaching writing, and should have at least two (2) years of college-level teaching.

Assistant/ Associate Professor, Education The Education Department of LaGrange College seeks an individual with significant experience in teacher leadership to teach courses and guide research primarily in a new Ed.S. in Curriculum and Instruction program. The Specialist in Education (Ed.S.) program, which will meet the requirements for an endorsement in teacher leadership, is designed for experienced teachers who desire to increase their content knowledge, improve their teaching skills and become teacher leaders in schools for positions such as grade level and department leaders, academic and graduation coaches. Coursework is delivered through a national and international comparative education perspective, where candidates learn how other geographic regions in the United States and countries around the globe teach their children. The research sequence prepares candidates to become inquiry-based decision makers and to produce scholarship that investigates a particular national or international curricular practice in regards to its successful application in U.S. schools.
Responsibilities of this tenure-track position also include advising candidates, serving on departmental and college committees, and actively contributing to the scholarship of the profession.
Suggested Qualifications: (1) a Doctorate in Education in curriculum, pedagogy, teacher leadership, or related area (2) accomplishment in education research, preferably related to PK-12 teaching and/or comparative education (3) experience teaching in P-12 classrooms (4) experience as a teacher leader, such as department chair, curriculum coach and/or other leadership roles. (5) Experience mentoring teachers, peer coaching, community relations, organizational change, and school advocacy. (6) National Board certification highly desired.

Vice President for Advancement LaGrange College has begun a search for the position of Vice President for Advancement.
